Sombras/ Shadows

Merece la pena ver más allá de las cosas, fijarse en sus reflejos o proyecciones. Me encantaban las cornisas de Melbourne. Pero las sombras que estas dibujaban en las casas eran todavía más bonitas, alargando los estampados y repartiéndolos por toda la pared.

It is worth to see beyond the things, look at their reflections or projections. I loved the cornices in Melbourne. But the shadows that they draw in the houses were even more pretty, extending the patterns all around the walls.

Suiza nos deparó varias sorpresas. Una fue la posibilidad de transitar el interior de un glaciar. Es precioso el azul, sí, sí, azul del hielo. Accidentalmente hicimos estas fotos que nos recordaron sombras chinas.

Switzerland kept some surprises ready for us. One was the possibility to walk inside a glacier. It's amaking the blue of the ice! We made these kind of chinese shadows accidentally.

Arte callejero/ Street Art

Si Melbourne está llena de vida, ¡sus paredes lo están más! Los barrios de Fitzroy, Collingwood y el CBD son auténticas galerías de arte al aire libre, y gracias a este tema he podido explorarlas a fondo. ¿Y sabéis que os digo? Que me gustan más que el MoMa, ¡y además es gratis!




If Melbourne is bubbly, its walls are even more! The neighbourhoods of Fitzroy, Collingwood and CBD are real oudoor art galleries, and thanks to this subject I've had the chance to explore them in depth. And you know what? I rather like it than MoMa, and it is for free!

Pues en Barcelona graffitis debe haber. Y además bastantes, pero yo no los he encontrado.
Debo admitir que me apetecía muy poco dar vueltas por el extraradio. No obstante tuve la suerte de toparme con una fiesta popular en la Barceloneta el día que fui a fotografiarlos.
Y creo que no hay arte más callejero ni más tipical spanish que unos hombretones tocando los tambores al son del pasodoble.

There must be graffitis in Barcelona. I am sure of that but I haven't found them.
I must admit I didn't feel like walking around the Outskirts of Town. However I was lucky to catcha a popular party in the Barceloneta area the day I went to photograph them.
And I think there is nothing more "street art" and more tipical Spanish that some big men playing the drums to the paso doble.

Y por fin las ventanas! And finally windows!

Al principio pensaba que las ventanas de Melbourne no tenían nada especial que ofrecer. Pero entonces empecé a mirar con cuidado, y descubrí pequeños detalles, texturas y reflejos que no había visto antes. Y ahora las ventanas de Melbourne son tan bonitas como yo quiero que sean. ¡De nada!

At the beginning, I thought Melbourne's windows had nothing special to offer. But then I looked carefully, and discovered small details, textures and reflections that I hadn't seen before. And now Melbourne's windows are as beautiful as I want them to be. You're welcome!

Cada barrio de Barcelona es un mundo. El Raval es muy peculiar. Yo no se si decir que tiene encanto pero desde luego lo que si tiene es personalidad.
Me encanta el contraste entre Melbourne y Barcelona. Nada que ver!!!

Each district of Barcelona is a world. Raval is very peculiar. I do not know if it is charming but certainly what it has is its own personality.
I love the contrast between Melbourne and Barcelona. Nothing to do!

Las Antípodas son verdes/ The Antipodes are green

Melbourne no es muy verde. Un par de parques con césped y poco más, lo demás son ventanas, paredes y graffittis. Pero oye bien mono que ha quedado, parece un flyer!



Melbourne is not very green. A couple of parks with grass and little else, the rest are windows, walls and graffiti. But hey the result is nice after all, looks like a flyer!

Barcelona tampoco es muy verde si no vas a lo obvio (que son los parques). Pero con tiempo y ganas todo se consigue. Si yo digo que es verde.... es verde!!!





Barcelona is not very green if you're not going to the obvious (which are the parks). But with time and effort you can get everything. If I say it is green .... it IS green!
